Personal experiences often teach us things that our personal perceptions cannot show us! The founder, Cassetta Scott, was both a student and teacher of life experiences. She was a student to the same turmoil’s that low-income families experienced, as well as teacher to families within her own community for nearly 14 years. She served as a Qualified Professional and Licensed Counselor where she witnessed families struggling to understand all the available resources, and how it could be beneficial to their personal goals and ambitions. Because of these experiences, her perception of life changed, and the passion she had for others skyrocketed.  As a leader, counselor, and mother of three, she prides herself on humanity and the ability to do good for others when they are unable to do for themselves. She has developed a passion and purpose in life, which makes her thirst for change and opportunity unquenchable with the members that she serves. Because of these values, integrity compels her to only associate with staff and personnel that serve the same purpose and drive that she does.  Therefore, creating something that no other agency or support can do.

Perseverance is Key to Success

Motivation and keeping a positive mindset are how Mrs. Fields starts her day! She thrives off speaking positivity in your life, despite obstacles. Mrs. Fields makes her impact strong with those that she encounters by encouraging others and reminding them your storm/setback is only temporary. Her favorite quote that she lives by is "The only time you fail is when you don't get up from a fall. "

"I've always wanted to give back in a way that counts. Especially in my comments. There are a lot of shortfalls in our communities. I would like to give my time back to an organization that I know best practices will be implemented, and the workers that I am surrounded with portray those same characteristics that I am looking for. 

 Giving Spirit:

Whoever said that Ms. Crystal 's heart was indicative of having a treasure of gold knew exactly how to describe a person with a genuine heart. Her spirit is always welcoming and her positive spirit contagious. Dedicated to making a change, Crystal shows this through her history of mentoring both children, and families within their community.

Giving back has always been a motivation in my life! I knew Chrissy's Place was home for me after connecting with the founder and seeing how our visions aligned. I am happy to be a part of this journey!

Pushing the limits for success is what opens the door to elevating your self-worth, Ms. Gore always says! She pushes others to see beyond their horizon. As a visionary, she encourages others to dream beyond what we considered could ever be! 

"When we believe in our dreams whole-heartedly, we take risks! When we take risks, we understand that our DREAMS are beyond what others see as the status quo! So, DREAM BIG!"  

Determined Spirit

Keeping and maintaining a determined spirit is the key to life, Ms. Crawford says! How can you open doors if you're unwilling to knock? Your ability to knock and remain persistent is why new chapters and opportunities are created! 

What better way to teach the importance of being determined, but through leadership roles and advocacy throughout the community! 

She reminds herself that “a difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose-a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve” John Maxwell! 

She is excited to share this purpose to pursue, love, and achieve the goal of providing change to families one opportunity at a time through Chrissy's Place of Refuge!
